In 1988, the Department of Labor passed the Occupational Safety and Health Act- OSHA.
Two new documents were created with this law
MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) RTK (Right To Know Reports)
The purpose of these reports is to provide the worker with the proper use and hazards of the products that they find in their workplace.
In 1998 in a joint statement , the EPA and OSHA agreed that this information need not always be transmitted on paper. Other forms of data transmission shall be acceptable and encouraged.
